Richard Sprague

Mr. Richard Sprague is the founder and senior member of Sprague & Sprague, and one of the leading trial attorneys in the United States. He currently serves as President Judge Emeritus of the Pennsylvania Court of Judicial Discipline. Mr. Sprague started his career as a Voluntary Defender in the Defender Association of Philadelphia followed by a distinguished career as First Assistant, District Attorney of Philadelphia; Special Prosecutor for Washington, Allegheny, Philadelphia and Delaware Counties; and as special counsel to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Judicial Inquiry and Review Board. With more than 30 years in private practice, Mr. Sprague has broad civil and criminal trial experience. He has participated as lead counsel in state and federal litigation—at both the trial and appellate levels—representing plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of corporate, anti-trust, malpractice, domestic relations, estates, administrative, RICO, securities and constitutional cases. His legal skill and creativity have resulted in many landmark judicial decisions in various areas of the law.
